Volkswagen enhances the Scirocco range

VW enhances the Scirocco range

Volkswagen has updated the Scirocco coupe range with extra standard kit and a new specification called R Line.

The R Line trim sits second from top in the Scirocco's range, above the standard and GT specifications and below the flagship R model.

Starting at £26,995 the R Line costs £1,525 more compared to the GT line-up. For that money the car receives a new sportier bodykit, 19" alloy wheels and branded leather sports seats.

These features join the already extensive standard equipment list which now includes satellite navigation, as well as 17" alloy wheels.

Engine options remain unchanged, meaning the Scirocco is available with a 120bhp 1.4-litre TSI petrol unit, found exclusively on the standard trim, as well as a 138bhp 2.0-litre TDI Bluemotion diesel, available on standard, GT and R-Line models.

The GT and R-Line specifications can also be equipped with a 207bhp 2.0-litre TSI petrol unit.

The Scirocco R meanwhile is still armed with a 261bhp 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, allowing the coupe to cover 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 155mph.

All of the engines can be attached to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic DSG.

The latest Volkswagen Scirocco range is on sale now in the UK, with prices starting at £19,650, around £400 less than before. The range topping Scirocco R starts at £30,575.
