New Vauxhall Insignia advert

Vauxhall's new Insignia saloon has been praised to high heaven already, and it's barely hit the streets. While it's an impressive all-round car its hi-tech gadgetry and futuristic looks convey an impression of style and even thrills.

Vauxhall obviously knows this, so its has commissioned an advert where a shady operative penetrates a GM facility where he uncovers the 'impossible' truth about the Insignia, finds his cover broken and has to escape from some GM henchmen.

It's a little bit X-Files, but a more obvious comparison is 24. It's all a little bit silly and over-the-top (though we're amused by the idea of the idea of the spy shooting his way out of the factory in a massive firefight), but Vauxhall probably feels that it's earned the right to indulge in a little hyperbole.

One can only hope that the GM goons don't track the undercover agent down and torture him death.
