White van drivers are 'rudest' motorists in UK
White van drivers are the rudest people on the road, while Ford drivers are the most polite according to a recent study.
2,500 motorists took part in a survey by MoneySupermarket.com to find out how Britain's motorists behave on our roads.
The results show that motorists who drive Fords came out on top as being the most polite mannered drivers on UK roads, with Audi and Citroen drivers following closely behind.
As white van drivers live up to their infamous discourtesy, Porsche and Range Rover drivers follow in second and third place respectively.
But when it comes to politeness on the road, it seems different drivers have different trends. For example, three quarter of white van drivers admitted that they never indicate and show other motorists where they intend to go.
So how rude are the motorists of Britain?
Do you let other drivers out in front of you at junctions?
A relieving 75 per cent of the people said they do...sometimes; with Ford drivers believed to be the most likely to do so. Alternatively, nine per cent say they never let other motorists out, with 30 per cent of Jaguar drivers admitting to this.
Do you ever fail to stop at a zebra crossing?
A worrying five per cent of drivers said they keep driving because they can't be bothered to stop, with more than half of BMW drivers admitting to this. A further 32 per cent said they do, but by accident, and another 63 per cent said they never fail to stop.
Have you ever parked in such a way that stops other drivers from parking or accessing their car?
68 per cent of drivers said that they never do this, but nine per cent said they do because they like to avoid people parking next to them. However, 23 per cent of drivers said that they only do this because they are not very good at parking, with 24 per cent of Honda drivers claiming this.
Do you ever drive through puddles and get pedestrians or cyclists wet?
Although it may be hard to believe, 64 per cent claimed to be innocent and never do this, with a further 29 per cent claiming they do it but by accident. The remaining seven per cent said they do it all the time.
Do you suffer from road rage?
It was revealed that Jaguar, Lexus and Audi drivers are the most likely to get hot headed behind the wheel, with Ford, Skoda and Vauxhall drivers being the calmest.
With all of these statistics in mind the people in the survey were also asked 'if drivers of the same car as you are more likely to be courteous to you on the road?'
34 per cent of drivers said yes and 66 per cent of drivers said no.
