Kia unleashes Superman-inspired Kia Optima
Kia has released a Superman-themed Optima hybrid that's inspired by the DC Entertainment hero's 'strength and commitment to planet Earth'.
The car has been unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show and is the latest superhero-themed car unveiled in support of the We Can Be Heroes campaign.
The car joins the Green Lantern Kia Soul and Batman-themed Kia Optima in raising awareness of the campaign.
The one-of-a-kind Optima hybrid has been widened with customised wings to give the car a more muscular appearance.
The car can also be raised and lowered at the push of a button thanks to its adjustable suspension system.
Amazingly the grille has been adjusted to represent Superman's belt, while the hero's iconic Superman chest badge features heavily on the bonnet.
A mix of red and blue paint represents the crime fighter's skin-tight suit and crimson cape, while the headlights glow red to symbolise the sheer intensity of Superman's heat vision.
"This joint effort to raise awareness for the 'We Can Be Heroes' giving campaign through Justice League-inspired cars has proven to be a huge hit with both comic fans and car aficionados," stated Amit Desai, Senior Vice President of Franchise Management, DC Entertainment.
"We're excited to continue our partnership with Kia to bring the latest addition, the Superman-inspired Optima Hybrid, to fans in Chicago and beyond."
"Each of our Justice League-inspired vehicles are remarkable collaborations between the automotive and comic book worlds, and all for a worthy cause," adds Michael Sprague, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications, KMA.
"To that, Kia is very proud to be partnering with DC Entertainment to raise awareness for the 'We Can Be Heroes' campaign."
