Kia has today announced the pricing and specification details for the all-new Carens compact MPV, available to order now from Kia dealerships across the UK.

The all-new third-generation Carens model completes the design-led 'revolution' that President and Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer began a few years ago.

Schreyer started by renewing every model in the Kia range and has completely transformed the South Korean car manufacturer's image, while driving the company towards year after year of record sales.

The new Carens MPV is available with a choice of three direct-injection engines, including one petrol and two turbodiesels.

The petrol engine on offer is the 1.6-litre Gamma GDi unit that produces 133bhp and 165Nm of torque. The combined fuel economy for the petrol unit is 44.1mpg, with CO2 emissions coming out at 149g/km.

There are two power outputs available on the 1.7-litre turbo-diesel engines. You can choose between a 114bhp (and 260Nm of torque) unit or the higher powered 134bhp (and 330Nm of torque) engine. All of the engines are mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The 114bhp 1.7-litre CRDi averages 60.1mpg and emits 124g/km while the 134bhp 1.7-litre turbo-diesel averages 56.4mpg and 132g/km.

Three trim levels are available in the Kia Carens range, labelled '1', '2' and '3'. The standard features on all models include seven seats, projection headlights with cornering lamps, leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift, air conditioning, remote central locking, Bluetooth and much more.

The '1' and '2' trim levels also include a rear conversation mirror on the Carens models, which is replaced by the controls for the panoramic sunroof on the range-topping '3' trim.

The mid-spec '2' models come with additional 16-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers and dual-zone air conditioning, amongst others.

The top of the range '3' variants bring 17-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats and steering wheel, LED reading lights and a colour reversing camera to the mix.

The Kia Carens is available in dealerships throughout the UK, with a starting price of £17,895 (OTR) for the base model and rising to £23,895 (OTR) for the range-topping specification.
