Jaguar’s excellent grand tourer is a refined and rather lovely cruiser, but it firms up and speeds up in XKR and XKR-S, where it reached near-supercar levels of performance and ability. Unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Jaguar XK was the first of the three modern-era Jaguars to hit the market. It is available in both coupe and convertible guise, and a high performance R version is also offered, which hits 62mph in 4.5 seconds and reaches up to 174mph. Jaguar XK prices start from around £65,000.
