Hyundai reveals price and spec for Santa Fe SUV
Hyundai has announced pricing and specification details for its Santa Fe SUV, which will be released 15 October with a starting price of £25,495.
The Santa Fe SUV was first released in the UK back in 2001 and since then, the UK has become one of its best selling markets in Europe as it has accounted for one third of all Santa Fe sales in Europe last year.
The Hyundai Santa Fe comes with just one engine - a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel, which produces 194bhp and 421Nm of torque.
As there is just one engine on offer, its availability is quite flexible and each model can be specified with either manual or automatic transmissions, as well as five and seven seat configurations.
The manual 2WD five seat Santa Fe is the entry level model and it emits 155g/km. The cheapest 4WD model costs £26,895 and it is matched with a manual transmission.
However, the manual 4WD model emits 159g/km and when specified with an automatic transmission, emissions are bumped up further to 178g/km.
There are three available trim levels: Style, Premium and Premium SE. Entry level features of the Style trim include 18-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, air conditioning and Bluetooth.
The Premium trim starts from £28,995 and it adds touchscreen satellite navigation, rear parking camera, roof rails and black leather seat trim.
The top of the range Premium SE trim starts from £32,695 and it adds 19-inch alloy wheels, electric driver's seat adjustment, panoramic sunroof and xenon headlights.
Standard safety features of the Santa Fe include Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), hill start assist and an Active Bonnet System, which raises the bonnet 60mm to help prevent head injuries of pedestrians on impact.
As it has proven to be a popular model in the UK, Hyundai's new Santa Fe model will feature a unique 'UK suspension set-up' which is said to comfortably absorb the bumps from potholed roads.
Upon release the Hyundai Santa Fe is likely to challenge the Mitsubishi Outlander, which has the edge in terms of price as it starts cheaper than the Santa Fe at £22,949 and also comes with 4WD as standard.
Prices for the new Hyundai Santa Fe range from £25,495 to £34,395.
