Honda’s most recent assault on the dominance of the Prius undercut its arch nemesis but did not fare well in Honda Insight reviews. The Insight is a hybrid petrol-electric car, currently available as either a three-door or five-door hatchback. First sold between 1999 and 2006, the Insight was rebooted with an all-new model in 2010, replacing the Honda Civic Hybrid.
The original Honda Insight was the first ever car to feature Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist system, the manufacturer’s hybrid technology. Current Honda Insight prices start at around £17,000.

The Insight’s suspension doesn’t take well to UK roads, but the steering is light and responsive so the Honda hybrid works well in the city.
