Aston Martin One-77
The One-77 is a rare and highly luxurious two-door supercar which entered production back in 2009. The car features a carbon-fibre chassis and a handcrafted aluminium coupe bodyshell, the engine is a 750bhp 7.3-litre V12 petrol unit.
Performance-wise the One-77 will cover the 0-60mph sprint in approximately 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 220mph.
Just 77 units of this Aston Martin have been built and the one seen here is the very last available for purchase, yours for £1.2 million.

Noble M600
The Noble M600 is a handbuilt British supercar, first launched back in 2010. Under its stainless steel and carbon fibre body is a 4.4-litre twin turbocharged V8 delivering 650bhp.
The lightweight M600 is one of the more simplified supercars on the market today, since it discards many of the now-commonplace driving aids including traction control and anti-lock brakes. The Noble is still on the market priced from £200,000.

Volkswagen Beetle
The latest Volkswagen Beetle went on sale in the UK back in February 2012 with the first deliveries following in the spring. This car arrives about 74 years after the original Beetle first arrived in the market.
The latest Beetle is offered in three trim levels; Beetle, Design and Sport, and comes with three petrol engines plus two diesels. Pricing for the Volkswagen Beetle currently starts from £16,490.

Porsche Boxster
The current Porsche Boxster sports car was launched to the UK market in April 2012, and is available in two trims; standard or S.
The standard Boxster, priced from £37,589, uses a 261bhp 2.7-litre petrol engine and can cover 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds while the top speed is 164mph.
The Boxster S, available for £45,384, features a 311bhp 3.4-litre petrol engine which cuts the 0-62mph time to exactly five seconds and the top speed is increased to 173mph.

Jaguar XJR-15
The XJR-15 is a very rare supercar manufactured by Jaguar between 1990 and 1992. It was mechanically based on the company's XJR-9 race car, winner of the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race.
Jaguar mainly built the XJR-15 so that it could compete in a sportscar championship named the Intercontinental Challenge; just 53 road-legal models are believed to have been made. On the road, the car could cover the 0-60mph sprint in 3.9 seconds and reach 191mph top speed.

Mercedes SLS Roadster
Launched in the UK earlier in 2012, the SLS Roadster is a softop convertible version of the original two-door supercar, priced at £176,925.
To cater in for the new roof, the eccentric gullwing doors found on the original SLS are swapped for more conventional doors.
The engine is also downscaled to a 6.2-litre V8, but it still delivers an impressive 563bhp, meaning the 0-62mph sprint is covered in 3.8 seconds and the top speed is 197mph.

Lancia Stratos
The Lancia Stratos HF is an Italian sports car originally built between 1972 and 1974. Each original model was powered by a mid-mounted 2.4-litre V6 turbocharged petrol engine; both the engine and the chassis were provided by Ferrari.
The Stratos is most famous for its success in the World Rally Championship, where it won three titles between 1974 and 1976.

Ford GT40
The GT40 is one of the most iconic racing cars in the world and was made between 1964 and 1969.
Designed in partnership with British race car makers Lola, the GT40 was made specifically with the goal of beating Ferrari in the world of endurance racing.
The car certainly proved capable against its arch-rival and went on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years in a row.

Bentley Speed 8
The Speed 8 racing car was first entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2001, marking a return to the race for the Bentley name after a 73 year absence.
This car achieved ultimate success in 2003 by winning the Le Mans race. To date it's only the second time since 2000 the event was not won by an ultra-dominant Audi.

007 Aston Martin Vanquish
This Aston Martin Vanquish is the supercar driven by James Bond in the 007 film Die Another Day.
The standard large coupe features a 450bhp 6.0-litre V12 petrol engine, allowing it to cover 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and hit a 189mph top speed.
In the film the Vanquish had some handy onboard gadgets like a cloaking device and ejector seat, plus an arsenal of weapons including rockets and shotguns.

007 Jaguar XKR
This first-generation Jaguar XKR roadster featured in the 007 James Bond film Die Another Day. However the car was not driven by the British secret agent himself but rather one of his antagonists in the film.
The driver had access to numerous extra 'safety features' like a gatling gun and rockets for example.

BAC Mono
The Mono is a 2011 single-seater sports car created by the Chesire-based Briggs Automotive Company (BAC).
Targeted at the track day driving enthusiast, the BAC Mono is very lightweight and carries a 285bhp 2.3-litre Cosworth engine. It can cover the 0-62mph sprint in a supercar-beating 2.8 seconds and the top speed is 170mph.
The BAC Mono is available to buy at £80,000.

Brutus
This gigantic racing car known as Brutus was created all the way back in 1908 by BMW. It's powered by a 46-litre V12 aircraft engine which produced 493bhp, and drank 6.5 gallons of fuel over a 1.2-mile sprint.
This gives the Brutus a fuel economy of just 0.18mpg, which seems a large sacrifice particularly now for a car which has a top speed of just 62mph.

BMW M5
The latest BMW M5 sports saloon went on sale in the UK back in November 2011, and currently starts from £73,065.
Under the bonnet the M5 features a 4.4-litre V8 engine, smaller than the previous M5's 5.0-litre V10. However the power output is increased by 45bhp up to 552bhp, allowing the saloon to sprint from 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds while the top speed is limited to 155mph.

BMW M135i
The upcoming BMW M135i hot hatch is set to reach the UK market in September 2012, with prices starting from £29,995.
The M135i uses a 320bhp 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine connected to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox. With the latter option the 0-62mph sprint is covered in 4.9 seconds while the top speed is limited to 155mph.

Aston Martin Rapide
The Rapide is a large and very luxurious four-door performance saloon, heavily based on the DB9 supercar. The engine used is a 470bhp 6.0-litre V12 which allows the Rapide to cover 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 188mph.
A lot of equipment including leather trim, Bluetooth and a 16 speaker sound system is provided as standard.

Top Gear BMW Z3
This BMW Z3 featured in the TV series Top Gear during the Middle East feature-length episode, where it was driven by presenter James May.
The challenge was to buy a two-door convertible for £3,500 or less, but May actually cheated and paid £3,966 for this Z3, which he ended up disliking.

Top Gear Citroen Ami
This Citroen car starred in an episode of Top Gear during series thirteen. Here it was bought in an auction by presenter James May before he drove it in a Mediterranean rally as part of a challenge to find the best pre-1982 auction car.
May ultimately beat his fellow presenters, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, to win this particular challenge.

Nissan GT-R
The high-tech Nissan GT-R is one of the cheaper yet more impressive supercars currently found on the market today.
First launched in 2008, the GT-R uses a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine and six-speed dual clutch transmission. The car received substantial updates in 2011 and 2012 which means it can now cover the 0-60mph sprint in just 2.7 seconds, while the top speed is estimated at 200mph.

Jaguar XKR-S
The XKR-S is at the time of writing the most powerful and fastest production road car Jaguar has ever delivered.
On sale since September 2011, pricing for the XKR-S currently starts from £98,000. For that money the sports coupe boasts a 550bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine. This allows the XKR-S to hit a top speed of 186mph and sprint from 0-62mph in just 4.5 seconds.
