Volkswagen has unveiled a convertible version of its electric E-Bugster concept, based on the upcoming new Beetle, at this year's Beijing Motor Show.
Although the electric E-Bugster concept was originally unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year as a coupe, Volkswagen has premiered it yet again, minus its roof.

The topless E-Bugster gives the public a very clear indication as to what the Beetle Cabriolet will look like when it goes on sale at some point in the future.
The E-Bugster's electric motor delivers 85kWh of power, equivalent to 113bhp. The concept can travel up to 110 miles from a single charge and when charging is required it takes up to 6 hours using a domestic 230V power supply, or 35 minutes using a fast-charging function.
From the outside the E-Bugster echoes the Beetle's classic design with a chunky body style, bubble-like bonnet and rounded rear end. It is also the same length as the Beetle at 4,278mm long, but it is 30mm wider at 1,838mm.
Another difference with the Roadster is that the windscreen has dipped by 90mm, giving it a lower riding look yet essentially more of a slanted coupe profile.
Other exterior additions include 20-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and meatier bumpers, which reinforce its roadster appeal.
Although a production model has not yet been announced, the E-Bugster model may hint at Volkswagen's electric future.
