Toyota has revised its 2009 Yaris supermini range, with a new 1.3-litre model equipped with stop-start technology.
Toyota says the 100bhp 1,3-litre petrol model returns 55.4mpg and emits 119g/km of CO2,placing it in the tax band B along.
Also in that tax band is the with the 90bhp 1.4 D-4D diesel, returning 68.9mpg and emitting 109g/km, and the 69bhp 1.0-litre petrol with figures of 56.5mpg and 118g/km.
The 1.33 and 1.4 D-4D are both equipped with a new six-speed manual gearbox. Toyota says all versions feature improved efficiency and reduced powertrain weight. An upgraded multimode automated-manual gearbox is an option.
Style-wise, the new Yaris gets new bumpers, redesigned headlights and LED tail-lights, a new grille, larger front spoiler and improved under-body aerodynamics. Inside there's a new black centre console with silver trim
Specification levels are revised to T2, TR, SR and T Spirit. TR grade models are expected to account for around 68 per cent of all new Yaris sales, and include aircon, electric door mirrors, six-speaker audio system, driver’s knee airbag and curtain airbags, and body-coloured door mirrors and handles.
Options include VSC, traction control & rear disc brakes, metallic paint, protection pack (rear parking sensors, mudflaps, side mouldings, boot protection plate) and Tech Pack (Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone/USB integration kit).
Prices for the range now start from £8,585 and rise to £13,455 for the five-door T Spirit Toyota Optimal Drive 1.4 D-4D 6M/M Yaris.
