This is the second year in a row that Skoda has wooed car owners as it saw the Superb and Yeti claim first and second place respectively last year. This year the Skoda Superb hatchback was second and the Skoda Octavia fourth.
Nissan also made a good impression, with three of its models - the Qashqai, X-Trail and Juke - making the top 15 table. The Nissan Juke topped the 'in-car tech' table in the Driver Power survey, which shows the Juke is popular amongst gadget enthusiasts.
Only a few major premium manufacturers featured in the 15 list, with the Jaguar XF claiming fifth and the Volvo XC60 tenth.
One of the shocking additions is the Toyota Prius, as it pretty much stands alone as a frugal hatchback. The fact that the Prius made it into the top 15, may suggest that running costs are a key feature in car ownership satisfaction.
There are some surprise omissions among volume players, with Ford, Vauxhall and Kia all absent. Ford and Vauxhall sell the most cars in the UK out of all manufacturers - with popular models like the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Corsa frequent sights on UK roads.
Below are the top 15 cars from the Driver Power survey:
