The SEAT Altea has been crowned “Car of the Year 2005" in Macedonia. The Spanish model secured the top accolade in the face of stiff competition from models such as the BMW 1 Series, Citroën C4, Dacia Logan, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Colt and Opel Astra.
The chairman of the judging panel, Ljupco Mihajlovski, handed over the “Car of the Year 2005" trophy awarded to the Altea to Zlatko Kalenikov, representing the official SEAT importer for Macedonia. The award ceremony was staged in the capital of Macedonia, Skopje, and was attended by numerous celebrities from the country’s political and social scenes.

The judges paid particular attention to the following criteria when evaluating the models: design, safety elements, environmental friendliness, market acceptance, comfort, equipment and driving characteristics.
SEAT sales in Macedonia for 2004 totalled over 440 units, including over 210 Ibiza, 150 Córdoba and 40 Altea models.
