Toyota is considering taking the top off the GT86 sports car after a sketch of what a convertible might look like was released today.
The sketch shows a convertible version of the two-seat sports car whose popularity has led it to be named on a ten-strong shortlist for World Car of the Year.

Toyota has revealed it will unveil a concept version of what it is calling the FT-86 Open concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
There it will 'gauge public reaction' before deciding if the concept will be put into production. Toyota will also use the concept as an opportunity to carry out engineering tests on the prototype model.
This will include cost analysis to see if the sporty drop-top will be viable and more technical evaluations such as improving the rigidity of the car when the top is down.
However, fans of sports cars are expected to take kindly to a convertible version of the GT86 after it received rave reviews after its launch last year.
The £25,000 car, built alongside the Subaru BRZ, was named as Top Gear's Car of the Year for 2012 and could add to that honour if in the prestigious World Car of the Year awards, the industry's top new car award.
