Best Technical Innovation 2010 for its Easy Fuel system that prevents misfuelling.
The system prevents drivers from mistakenly filling a diesel-engined car with petrol.
“It eliminates a problem which can cost thousands of pounds each time a car is misfuelled," commented Fleet News judges.
“Simple but highly effective, and with 300,000 units installed it is having a significant impact on fleet drivers."
The S-MAX was also named Best MPV by the fleet industry publication, beating five MPV rivals due to its 'good design, practicality, high quality, flexibility and driver appeal'
Judges also praised the S-MAX for its strong appeal to finance and HR-led fleets.
The new S-MAX model has had a visual refresh for 2010 inside and out.
