As a result the latest 2012 model year cars enjoy a small improvement in efficiency, which has also lead to a cut in running costs.
All models in the current MG6 range, both saloon and hatchback, now emit 174g/km in CO2, reduced from 184g/km.
This reduction also means the road tax drops from group I to group H. That means buyers of a new MG6 will now pay £275 for the first year of road tax instead of £325 previously, and then £195 every subsequent year, a reduction from £215 annually.
Furthermore, each model in the MG6 range now has a higher combined fuel economy range, increased from 35.6mpg to 37.7mpg.
The on-the-road price for each specification of the MG6 also enjoys a small price drop by £40.
Therefore the MG6 now starts from £15,455 in the GT hatchback form and S model trim.
Meanwhile the flagship Magnette saloon specification now starts from £19,955.
