Kia has revealed the first teaser image and details on a new hot hatch version of its three-door pro_cee'd.
The reveal of this car follows the global public debut of the newest Kia pro_cee'd a couple of months ago, during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. Kia says the new pro_cee'd is expected to go on sale in the UK during spring 2013, while during the second half of the year the hot hatch specification will arrive.

The pro_cee'd GT is particularly significant for Kia as it represents the manufacturer's first ever hot hatch set to enter the production line.
Only a few details have been confirmed so far on the new GT hot hatch, but Kia has at least revealed that it will feature a 1.6-litre GDI petrol engine connected to a six-speed manual transmission, a similar powertrain then to the 184bhp Hyundai Veloster Turbo coupe.
Reports across the media speculate that on the GT the engine could produce somewhere in a region between 184bhp and 200bhp.
The Kia pro_cee'd GT is expected to rival similar sized hot hatches like the Volkswagen Golf GTI. Speculation however indicates the GT will be capable of covering the 0-62mph sprint in around eight seconds, about a second more than the Golf GTI.
Pricing for the Kia pro_cee'd GT could reportedly start from approximately £22,000 when it hits UK showrooms next year. Before that the hot hatch could make its public debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show next March.
