Citroen has announced that it will unveil a new convertible version of its DS3 supermini at this year's Paris Motor Show.
As with many other popular superminis, the Citroen DS3 is being given a drop-top to compete with the likes of the Fiat 500C and the Mini Roadster.

The model has been expected for some time and its official reveal is now less than a month away - although buyers will only be able to get behind the wheel early next year.
Since its launch back in 2010, the DS3 has been a huge hit with UK buyers who have been taken with its customisable options. The cabriolet version keeps this level of personalisation but adds a soft-top roof.
However, passengers should stay well-cosseted from the elements at speed because the tall front and side windows mean the convertible keeps its distinctive upright silhouette even with the roof down.
The DS3 convertible offers the same compact shape as the standard DS3 and comes with six different colours options for the roof; Grey, Brillant black, white, Carbotech, Infinite blue and Moondust grey.
The roof takes 16 seconds to close at speeds of up to 75mph - one of few drop-tops that are capable of doing this at motorway speeds.
We expect the DS3 cabriolet to retain the standard DS3 engine range as it is already quite extensive and includes a punchy 155bhp petrol and a frugal 95g/km e-HDi diesel.
In terms of other styling features, the DS3 convertible gains a few aesthetic enhancements with a new rear LED light arrangement and a few interior additions, including Granite blue leather upholstery and matching dashboard strip.
The DS3 retains its adequate 245 litres of boot space, which is fairly average for a supermini but impressive for a convertible model, whose roofs tend to encroach on boot space.
The Citroen DS3 convertible will be launched in early 2013 and prices will be announced closer to launch.
