Experian has launched a service providing environmental reports for used cars.
Experian’s new Environmental Report reveals the CO2 emission data on a used vehicle, and is a free addition to AutoCheck, Experian’s provenance service for dealers.

Looking for a new car then why not start with a glossy brochure?
The report includes the VED actually payable on a used vehicle over a period of either six or 12 months meaning used-car dealers will be able to display the same information for their customers as new-car dealers currently do for their customers.
Kirk Fletcher, Managing Director of Experian’s Automotive division, said: “A number of our used car dealers have expressed a desire for this information so that they can display it on their used stock."
“...although the environment doesn’t completely influence their choice or car, consumers are more aware of the extra costs and want more information upfront before making a decision.
"Therefore, the VED band and associated costs, in addition to the CO2 emissions information, could be valuable for the dealer in helping to sway the car buyer."
