The Citroen DS5 has been named ‘Car Design of the Year’ at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, receiving the award from Car Design News.
The Citroen DS5 was the clear winner in the awards and received almost a quarter of all the 4,000 votes, fending off competition from the new Lamborghini Aventador. The winner was chosen by readers of Car Design News after a shortlist was drawn up.

From the outside the DS5 features similar design touches to the smaller DS3 and DS4 models. This includes strong body contours, a low coupe-like roofline and the official DS line badge slapped on its front end.
It also adds some of its own unique features including muscular wheel arches, twin exhaust at its rear and chrome inserts that run from its headlamps up the bonnet and into the A-pillars.
It’s a stunning car with a muscular profile that blends hatchback and coupe features to create a really distinctive shape.
Its interior features a cockpit like cabin with watchstrap designed seats and high quality upholstery.
The DS5 made a name for itself as being a luxurious large family car, as its combination of family convenience, luxury and a frugal engine made it a head turner when it was originally unveiled at Geneva last year.
The DS5 uses the same Hybrid4 diesel powertrain as the Peugeot 3008, which makes it one of the first diesel hybrids. Its diesel powertrain gives the DS5 a power output of 200bhp and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.
The DS5 comes with three trim levels: D Sign, D Style and D Sport. Entry level trim features include air conditioning, cruise control and Bluetooth.
The Citroen DS5 goes on sale in April and prices range from £22,400 to £32,000.
