Kia says it will sign up to the government's scrappage scheme, making the Picanto city car available for £4,195, or £10 a week on finance with a £1,000 deposit.
Under the scrappage scheme, if a customer is prepared to pay a £1,000 deposit, the Picanto is available for less than £40 a month on a Kia Access finance package.
Without a customer deposit of £1,000, the Picanto is available for £20 a week.
Powered by a 1.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, Kia says the Picanto will be one of the most affordable cars in the UK available under the scrappage programme.
The five-seat 1.4-litre engined Rio supermini will be available for £5,195 under the scrappage scheme.
Paul Philpott, Managing Director of Kia Motors (UK) Ltd., said: “A Kia cee’d, complete with seven year bumper-to-bumper warranty and five-star EuroNCAP safety rating bought under the scrappage scheme is just £9,440. That’s a package no-one in the UK motor industry can match.
"Even our fresh and stylish Kia Soul, just launched in March, can be bought for just £8,495 complete with a five year warranty under the scrappage incentive," he added.
Kia says orders can be placed now under the new scrappage scheme.
