Alfa Romeo Giulietta Hatchback (2010 On)

Welcome to our Alfa Romeo Giulietta Hatchback (2010 On) page providing you access to a wealth of related information and specifications.

A-Z

Something of a return to form for Alfa Romeo; looks stunning and is one of the safest cars in its class.

Emissions

Between 114 and 177g/km across the Giulietta range is decent, as is diesel combined fuel economy, which exceeds 60mpg. The Giulietta is also available with Fiat’s winning MultiAir engine. Check out that and the JTDM diesels.

Feel

Alfa’s Giulietta is very comfortable in general; wind and road noise is kept to a minimum and the smooth ride makes it good round town as well as on the motorway.

Equipment

Good standard equipment on all Giuliettas – basic trim level comes with air-con, electric windows and stop/start technology.

Quality

The Giulietta’s cabin especially is of a high standard, even if it can’t match the Golf. Alfa Romeo’s reliability record hasn’t been the best either, but is showing big signs of improvement.

Pros

The Giulietta stands out from the crowd, is cheaper than competitors, offers high level of standard kit, and is comfortable to be in.

Alternatives

Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus, Audi A3

Performance

The Giulietta Cloverleaf model outputs 235bhp and is a true hot hatch. 1.4-litre 170bhp petrol is cheap, quick and nimble and is our favourite option.

Driving

Fun and smooth on the roads with selectable driving dynamics settings. Dynamic mode is where the Giulietta excels when it comes to the twisty stuff.

Space

Despite being longer than the Golf, there’s not a lot of space in the Giulietta‘s rear. The boot is of decent size however – 350 litres extends to over 1,000 with the rear seats down.

Price

The Giulietta undercuts rivals; diesels are cheap to run, residual values should be helped by Alfa shrugging off its poor reliability reputation.

Safety

Five-star EuroNCAP rating – stability control, active anti-whiplash front head restraints and front, side, curtain airbags come as standard on all models.

Cons

Lack of rear head- and leg-room, Alfa’s reliability record isn’t very good and could ultimately affect sales (and resales).
