With a heritage steeped in motor racing success, Alfa Romeo is a brand renowned for its sporting panache and exciting, emotional designs. Though today Alfa Romeo offers a small range of fairly sensible – if stylistically oddball – cars, the Italian manufacturer is responsible for some of motoring’s greatest models, as Alfa Romeo reviews frequently highlight. The company started life in Milan in 1910 and, along the way, frequently teamed up with top Italian design houses such as Pininfarina to create some of the most stylish and memorable cars ever made. Not without its flaws, the company has fought hard to shrug off a reputation of producing unreliable vehicles; Alfa Romeo ratings tend to draw attention to the cars’ issues in this area. But even with that unwanted reputation, it is often said that you are not a car enthusiast until you’ve owned an Alfa. The company is now wholly owned by compatriot carmaker Fiat, and shares the Italian group’s award winning engines in its new model range, including the MultiAir petrol and MultiJet diesel engines that win strong Alfa Romeo reviews and are designed to reduce fuel consumption and harmful CO2 emissions without sacrificing power. With such technologies at its disposal, Alfa has seen something of a return to form recently with the release of the well-received Mito supermini and Giulietta hatchback, which represent the new Alfa Romeo in the Italian marque’s current product line-up. While Alfa had previously built hatchbacks, the MiTo was the manufacturer’s first attempt at a supermini and, since its launch in 2008, it has received excellent Alfa Romeo ratings and reviews. Alfa Romeo reviews never fail to mention the stunning looks of the premium Italian manufacturer, which are some of the most distinct on the market. All models come with the signature Alfa nose, which features a large triangular grille and an off-centre registration plate. The manufacturer also focuses on coupes, saloons and hatchbacks in the main which lend themselves to Alfa’s iconic wedge profiles and low slung designs. New Alfa Romeo reviews are coming to ditch the negatives over reliability that harmed Alfa Romeo ratings in the past, with the Italian manufacturer improving and changing its reputation dramatically in recent years. Its new cars have led to new Alfa Romeo reviews highlighting style and strong engines. If you want to research a purchase of a new Alfa, read our Alfa Romeo reviews.
